Schell’s Description of this Lawnmower Beer:
“Introduced on Memorial Weekend, 1998, and only available in the summer, Zommerfest is brewed in a ‘Kölsch’ style, which originates from Cologne, Germany. Its characteristics are fairly light—in color and in flavor. It is a pale gold color, low in hop flavor and aroma, with a light body and a somewhat dry finish. This is a pleasant, light-flavored beverage that goes well with any summer activity. “
Zommerfest Summer Lawnmower Beer
Zommerfest looks like summer right out of the bottle with a sunny golden appearance. A nice light lemon-citrus scent hovers. The beer is sharp and crisp with a hoppy tartness that is mighty close to becoming bitter. Faint lemongrass was the predominate flavor. The medium level carbonation tingles the lips a little.
Overall, Zommerfest lawnmower beer is nice and refreshing on a hot summer day. Stock up a few of these in the fridge this summer.
